• The Manyo Dual-shading inks by Sailor are beloved for their variability, showing off surprising hues like green grey within purple and grey inks, blue grey within purple and green, light purple that shades to different purples.

• It comprises over 4,000 poems written over a period of 400 years by people from all walks of life from emperors to farmers. Flowers are particularly relevant in Japanese culture and 1,500 of the poems relate to them. Sailor therefore decided to name the Manyo inks after flowers mentioned in this epic, centuries-spanning collection of poems.
